When I was tasked to cater for an 18th Birthday, my first question to the client was what the birthday girl's favourite food. When Mexican was the answer I knew I had to do a full on Taco Bar with Pork Carnitas, Chilli and all the trimmings.
The brief for this engagement party was for everything to be gluten free. I had a lot of fun adapting recipes and coming up with substantial nibbles that hold their own. My handmade buckwheat blinis disappeared very quickly!
One of my first events, this Christening lunch was set in a Winchester based village hall. I suggested an Italian Sunday lunch and it went down a storm. Porchetta, Panzanella salad and Tiramisu to finish.
As 2024 rolled in I felt a need to offer my local community a range of veggie packed one pot meals for them to heat at home. One of the most popular dishes was the Buddha bowl, full of nutrients and the perfect compliment to any wellness event.
I confess, this was for my own ten year wedding anniversary, but it didn't stop me pulling out the big guns with a buffet of small eats, including @saltpigcuring's award winning charcuterie, homemade bread and an instagram-worthy melon and feta salad.
I often collaborate with other vendors, so when I was asked to supply side dishes for a hog roast, I was thrilled to work with the fabulous Hursley High Class Butchers.
